Community Farm Alliance
The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky has provided funding to the Community Farm Alliance to expand the reach and impact of the Kentucky Double Dollars program. The program works to address the unmet health needs of Kentuckians by increasing access to healthy foods and reducing food insecurity.
Fighting for Ivy: How Legal Advocacy Helped a Family Navigate Medicaid Challenges
The funding we provide to the Kentucky Equal Justice Center supported these efforts to help a young girl with complex medical needs continue receiving quality healthcare at her home and avoid being institutionalized.

Eastern Kentucky Healthy Kids in School
In 2023 we awarded grants to 6 schools in Appalachian Kentucky to improve physical activity and nutrition for kids. They used the evidence-based Coordinated Approach To Child Health (CATCH) model. The funding period ended in June of 2024. The ‘report cards’ below share some of the successes of the program from four of the participating schools.

Vaccine Grants

Kentucky Derby Festival
In Spring of 2024, The Kentucky Derby Festival hosted two locations where vaccines were administered. At least 400 people received a vaccination and more than half were from traditionally under-vaccinated populations.

CPESN Kentucky
CPESN Kentucky’s Pneumococcal Vaccine Equity Program was an initiative designed to reach underserved communities in the Commonwealth. In just five months, the program: Reached 1,000+ individuals through targeted community events; Provided personalized vaccine counseling to 177 people; Successfully vaccinated 37 high-risk individuals who faced systemic hurdles to access—people who might otherwise have gone unprotected.
