Denise Hall announced as Healthy Kentucky Champion

Louisville, KY (August 23, 2022) – Denise Hall is one of the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky’s 2022 Healthy Kentucky Champions. The awards recognize individuals dedicated to improving the health of Kentuckians at a community level and/or state level.

Hall, of Trimble County, Kentucky, began working in the substance use prevention field in 1998 at Seven Counties Services. In 2003, she became coordinator for Trimble County Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC) before writing two Drug Free Communities Grants (DFC) and directing them. The DFC grants is now in its 10th and final year.

Hall’s work includes implementing a Drug Education Series in Trimble County and a Sources of Strength (SOS) group at the Trimble County Junior/Senior High School. She administers a survey to middle and high schoolers to understand the substance misuse prevention needs. Hall was crucial in getting vape detectors installed at the high school. Hall is also managing director of Trimble CARES Coalition.

“Denise Hall is a perfect example of what it means to serve the youth of a community,” said Ben Chandler, president and CEO, Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. “Her dedication and compassion for children and teens is something we should all be grateful for.”

Hall is one of seven 2022 Healthy Kentucky Champions. Nominations for next year’s class will be accepted starting in October.
