Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky welcomes two new Board Members

The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky (FHKY) is launching into the new year with two additions to its Board of Directors. LaToya Drake of Glasgow, KY and Tim Marcum of Louisville, KY both bring a wealth of experience and passion for improving the health outcomes of communities across the Commonwealth.

LaToya Drake is the Program Coordinator with Kentucky’s Nutrition Education Program, a part of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. She has spent decades working in public service, most of which has been focused on improving access to healthy foods. Her background aligns seamlessly with the Foundation’s mission and goals – as we know that food and nutrition security is one of the key social determinants of health.

Tim Marcum is the Associate Vice President of Planning for Baptist Health. He has over 34 years of experience in the healthcare industry, working in hospital administration, assisted living development, healthcare consulting, physician practice administration, and strategic planning. His expertise will be a valuable asset to the Foundation’s work to improve Kentuckians’ access to quality health care.

"We are thrilled to welcome LaToya and Tim to the Foundation's Board of Directors," said Ben Chandler, president and CEO, Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. "Their diverse backgrounds, expertise, and dedication to health will undoubtedly contribute to our ongoing efforts to create a healthier and more vibrant Kentucky.”

The Board is responsible for the establishment and oversight of Healthy Kentucky’s financial, program, and policy activities. Both Drake and Marcum served on the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky’s Community Advisory Council before being appointed to the Board.

The FHKY Board of Director’s leadership team for 2024 is as follows:

  • Board Chair - Marianne Smith Edge of Owensboro

  • Vice Chair – Jane Chiles of Lexington

  • Treasurer – Tracey Antle of Russell Springs

  • Secretary – Wayne Tuckson of Louisville
